FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Kitakids centres are privately owned and family run, setting new industry standards in childcare and early childhood education. Kitakids centres have created a quality alternative for families to consider.
When we have a vacancy at your chosen location that suits your care requirements, you will be required to complete an enrolment form for each child you wish to enrol. Once you have returned the completed forms and paid your fees, your child may be able to commence care as soon as possible.
When you enrol at Kitakids you will be able to select your child’s permanent days to attend. You are welcome to increase permanent care days within the term, subject to availability. You may speak to our Principal or Director to check if there are any vacancies to make the changes. However, decrease in permanent care days can only be made in the following term.
Families must provide us with a one-term notice in writing to terminate enrollment.
The health and safety of children is our highest priority at Kitakids. Children are not encouraged to attend if they are unwell. At check-in, children’s temperature is recorded. Their hands, feet and mouth are also examined for signs of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) or skin rashes. Kitakids is unable to provide adequate care for sick children or on one-on-one care usually required. Sick children can compromise the health and safety of other children.
We request that each child has a bag for their personal belongings. Families need to ensure that all their children’s belongings are clearly labelled. To assist us in meeting all your child’s needs we ask that the following items are provided:
- change of clothes
- ready made up bottles or pre measured formula and sterilised bottles (if required)
- comforters (pacifier, teddy, blanket etc.)
- drinking bottle with strictly water only.
Upon enrolment you must nominate authorised persons to collect your child in your absence.
Any person collecting a child who is unfamiliar to staff must produce photo identification, which will be cross referenced with the child’s enrolment form. If a person is requesting to collect a child but is not on the enrolment form, Kitakids will not under any circumstances, release that child. Kitakids uses the latest security access system which allows only authorised families and staff to access the facility. Any unauthorised person will not have automatic access and will have to use the front door bell to request access. All visitors must register on our online portal.
Kitakids educators will work together with you and your child on individual, appropriate strategies to overcome toilet training challenges. Kitakids services are purpose-built facilities which are fitted with convenient nappy changing benches and age appropriate toilets.
When children arrive in the morning, Kitakids staff will read their temperature and examine the child for any signs of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD). Then, a photo of the child and parents will be taken on our online portal, before parents escort their children to their respective classrooms. In the classrooms, children will follow the tentative room routine. By mid-afternoon, as some children start to go home, the remaining children will once again participate in an integrated age-group programme. Children who are enrolled in our Enrichment Classes then stay on to enjoy extra-activities and lessons. Those not registered for external enrichment classes will have activities based on internal enrichment programmes.
You will have access to daily communication books that will tell you what your child has eaten, the number of hours they slept and how many bottles of milk they have had for that day as well as what activities they have participated in throughout the day, all recorded by our educators. This exercise is to encourage parents to be in touch with their child’s activities in school and be involved in their education.
Many safety features have been built into our facilities to minimise any potential harm or access of unauthorised persons. There is always a guard on duty and a state of the art security system that includes CCTV cameras and a biometric fingerprint scanner at the main entrance. Kitakids is also fully certified for fire safety by the Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat, Malaysia (Malaysian Fire & Rescue Department).
The programme encapsulates our five learning goals, and seeks development in their physical growth, identity, emotions, communications and ability to contribute to the world. We endeavour to develop a life-long love of learning in your child. To know more in depth, come and visit us!
Your child will have many opportunities to explore pre-literacy and pre-number skills. Through play and other fun learning experiences, your child will discover the alphabet and numbers by engaging in “Concepts of Print” and “Counting” activities. Children can be guided into reading activities through the Jolly Phonics reading and writing programme.
We have an open door policy that allows you to meet them on a daily basis. A minimum of two Parent-Teacher meetings are scheduled each year. A positive working relationship between home and school promotes positive learning outcomes.
Lunch boxes are not needed as Kitakids provides all meals for your child throughout the day including breakfast, a two-course lunch, afternoon snacks and a evening snack.
We plan incursions and excursions around unit themes based on the children’s interests. We have many internal programmes at no extra cost.
